Product Overview
3M Novec 7200 Engineered Fluid is a high-performance hydrofluoroether product with the chemical formula ethoxy-nonafluorobutane (C₄F₉OC₂H₅). This clear, colorless, and low-odor specialty fluid is specifically developed to replace ozone-depleting substances (ODS), high global warming potential (GWP) compounds, and chlorinated materials. Its unique physical and chemical properties make it an ideal choice for high-end industrial applications such as precision cleaning and thermal management.

1.Physical Properties Analysis
Novec 7200 exhibits optimized physicochemical parameters including a boiling point of 76°C, significantly higher than most CFCs, HCFCs, and HFCs, which effectively reduces evaporative losses during operation. The fluid's low surface tension (13.6 dynes/cm) and viscosity (0.61 cP) make it particularly suitable for vapor degreasing and cold cleaning applications.
2.Environmental and Safety Excellence
The fluid demonstrates outstanding environmental credentials with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP=0) and favorable global warming potential characteristics. It has received approval under the U.S. EPA's Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program and has been excluded from VOC definition due to its negligible contribution to tropospheric ozone formation.
