3M Novec 1700 Electronic Grade Coating is a single-component fluorinated polymer solution based on 3M Novec 7100DL Engineered Fluid, characterized by low viscosity and low surface tension. Designed to provide reliable moisture and corrosion protection for printed circuit boards and electronic components, it dries to form an ultra-thin, transparent protective film with excellent hydrophobic and oleophobic properties. Requiring no curing and featuring easy application, it upholds the Novec series' commitment to environmental and safety excellence, offering core advantages such as non-flammability, zero ozone depletion potential, low toxicity, low global warming potential, RoHS compliance, and full U.S. EPA VOC exemption.

Novec 1700 has a density of 1.5 g/ml (@23°C), a boiling point of 61°C, and no flash point by closed-cup test, ensuring safety throughout storage and use. Its rheological properties are perfectly suited for precision application methods such as dip, brush, and selective dispensing, achieving handling capability within two minutes at room temperature, significantly enhancing production line throughput.

The cured coating thickness can be flexibly adjusted within a range of 0.1–10 microns. The dry film exhibits excellent thermal stability (maintaining performance after 24 hours at 175°C) and a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 44.5°C. Static contact angles of 105° (water) and 65° (hexadecane) confirm its exceptional dual-phobic properties. Electrical performance is equally reliable, with a dielectric constant of 3.2 (@1kHz), dissipation factor of 0.002, and dielectric strength of 2000 V/mil, providing stable insulation for various electronic circuits.
